Bondi to Noosa

My first introduction to Noosa came in 1978 when my parents drove us up here for a holiday, I was 14 years old. I was a keen young surfer and I fell in love with Noosa and its amazing beaches. It was a long journey from Adelaide, but well worth it.

Five years ago, after spending 30 years in Bondi, my partner Lee, along with our daughter Isla and I, made the move to Noosa and we couldn’t be happier. We bought a house in Sunrise Beach and settled into the community and restaurant scene very quickly.

I was very fortunate to land the head chef position at Locale and Lee has been working on the floor at Rickys. Both part of the Olgilvie group. Noosa is without doubt one of the most beautiful destinations in Australia and home to an exciting food scene. I’m continually blown away by the quality of local produce that’s on offer up here, it inspires me to cook beautiful food and build close relationships with the suppliers.

2021 will be a special year for me as it marks 40 years of being a chef and what better way for me to start celebrating this milestone than to launch my new business ‘Chef Andy Davies’.

And so it begins…
